Safety First: Keeping Our Facility Safe and Secure

At Carroll County Solid Waste, we prioritize safety to ensure a hazard-free environment for everyone. Whether you’re a regular visitor or a first-timer, it’s crucial to follow our safety guidelines.

1. Secure Your Load
Before entering our facility, make sure your load is properly tarped or strapped. This simple precaution prevents debris from spilling and creating potential hazards on our grounds. Loose materials can not only cause accidents but also harm the environment.

2. Mind Your Speed
As you approach our work areas, be mindful of your speed. Slowing down helps reduce the risk of accidents, protecting both our workers and visitors. Speeding in these areas can lead to avoidable incidents that endanger everyone at the facility. Remember, a few extra seconds of caution can make a big difference in ensuring everyone’s safety.

3. Stay Off Your Phone
Distracted driving is a major safety concern, especially in busy environments like ours. We ask that you refrain from making or taking phone calls until you’ve left the facility. Keeping your focus on the task at hand ensures smooth operations and minimizes the risk of accidents. Your cooperation helps us maintain a safe and efficient recycling center.

In addition to these guidelines, please keep the following safety reminders in mind:

  • Never stand behind your load when dumping at the landfill.
  • If you need to speak to someone, wait until you’re in a safe, non-dumping area.
  • If inclement weather makes dumping unsafe, staff will direct you on what to do until it’s safe to resume.
  • Always stay close to your vehicle.

By adhering to these guidelines and safety reminders, we can work together to keep our facility safe and efficient.
