The Iowa Department of Natural Resources has divided the state into comprehensive planning areas to control waste and ensure cities and counties work together to reduce the volume of materials going into Iowa’s landfills.
• All loads must enter scale, state what they are carrying and be weighed
• Then unload and return to scale for reweigh and disposal fee.
• Payment is expected at the time of service, unless customer has approved charge account with agency.
• ALL LOADS MUST COME ACROSS SCALE 30 MINUTES PRIOR TO CLOSING.
Waste that requires specific or additional management for safe and proper disposal is considered special waste.
EXAMPLES: Ash, asbestos, contaminated soil, cement, concrete, landscaper pavers and railroad ties.
